Why Become A Member

Our membership program is one of our principle avenues to capture funding for our operating initiatives. APET-SPCA is a 501-C3 organization.  Those initiatives include our subsidizing our low cost neuter and spay program which offers low cost alternatives to local pet owners with APET SPCA picking up the remainder of the vet fees. Additionally, though APET SPCA is not a rescue organization, we often receive calls from residents who have emergency situations with dumped animals or strays, and we always assist when and where we can. Having already assisted with 163 spay and neuter surgeries thus far this year (and over 2,500 in the past two years), this program alone is a very important proposition for us, and your partnership is invaluable to us. We also sponsor semi-annual low cost chip and inoculation clinics held in Winnsboro and Mineola.

But there is much more work to be done!  In addition to continuing our low cost spay & neuter programs and our inoculation clinics, we would like to expand into responsible pet ownership education in local schools, work with city and county officials to address animal control issues (animal dumping is a major problem in the area) and continue to educate our citizens through public speaking engagements and participation in local events. 

We are getting closer to the reality of our APET SPCA ANIMAL CENTER.
