Dear Friends,
A new year is upon us, filled with hope, love and promise. Its the time
of year that we are finally relaxing from the holidays and look forward
to spring. Its APET SPCA time of year to start our membership drive. We
are asking you for you support of our organization by renewing your
membership or joining for the first time.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN? Let me share a few statistics with you East Texas
has the highest percentage of child and animal abuse and abandonment in
all of Texas. These stats are directly correlated to one another and if
we dont stop one, we will never combat the other. This is not an animal
problem but a social one. The other important thing to know is that we
are creating a community of apathy because people (good people)
understand if they take in an abandoned stray or abused animal they are
responsible for it. Why? Because there isnt any place for it to go.
When we start ignoring the problem, we create an even bigger one. Its a
sad and dangerous situation we are fostering when we do nothing. There
has to be somewhere these poor animals can go that is safe and caring
until they find their forever homes a shelter is the answer. However,
until the money is raised to build the facility we will continue to help
the animals.
Although we no longer house animals, we still provide the following:
 |
Low cost spay/neuter vouchers |
 |
Low cost inoculations |
 |
Advice on how to adopt out abandoned animals |
 |
Help to low income families and seniors, so they can
keep their pets, |
 |
Support to other rescue groups in the area |
 |
Educational speakers to the community and |
 |
Assistance to people who are willing to foster an animal
until we get it adopted |
|
What Your Membership Provides
 |
A $25 single membership will provide 5 rabies shots, or
3 DLHP inoculations, or 2 heartworm tests or 1 low cost
spay/neuter voucher for a small dog. |
 |
A $40 family membership can provide 8 rabies shots, or
buy 25 vials of DLHP inoculations, or 2 low cost
spay/neuter vouchers. |
 |
A $100 membership provides double what is listed above. |
|
All membership money goes to the direct care of the animals of our
community. We are hoping that you understand the critical situation we
face. If this is important to you we have enclosed a membership form AND
if you really believe in what we are doing share this letter with
friends so more animals can be saved and given a second chance at life.
Thank you for your kind generosity,
Your Furry Friends at APET SPCA
